World Physical Therapy Day 2016
The 8th September 2016 saw a massive response to World Physical Therapy Day. Around the world physical therapists promoted this year's "Add life to years" message. Congratulations to all who held events promoting the profession and the vital role it plays in global health. Huge success was also seen on Twitter with the hashtags #WorldPTDay and #addlifetoyears achieving over 15.5 million impressions and more than 6,000 tweets.
 
Reports from WCPT member organisations about activities held to celebrate the day will be added to the WCPT website shortly. Although we cannot promise to be able to feature all reports, please let us know about your celebrations by emailing a brief report and photos to [email protected].

Call for abstracts
There is just one month to the deadline submission of 31st October. Don't miss your chance to present on the world stage. Abstract presentations are the main way of showcasing research and innovations - there were over 1,640 platform and poster presentations at the WCPT Congress 2015 in Singapore.

WHO recognises importance of MSK health
A new World Health Organization (WHO) action plan has highlighted the importance of promoting musculoskeletal health in preventing noncommunicable diseases across Europe.
 
The plan, approved on 15th September, acknowledges that musculoskeletal conditions are the greatest cause of disability in the European region, leading to workplace absences and a loss of independence in older age.

ER-WCPT Congress 2016
The European Region of WCPT is holding the largest European physiotherapy-dedicated event of 2016. The congress will be held in Liverpool, UK on the 11th and 12th November, when the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy will host more than 500 speakers and poster presenters from across the world.

WCPT-AWP & PTAT Congress 2017
The congress theme is “Moving towards health, longevity, and sustainability". It offers an opportunity for physical therapists in the Asia Western Pacific Region to present their works and share experiences with peers to enhance collaborations in the region and worldwide. The congress will be held 27th to 30th June 2017in Bangkok, Thailand.

World Congress on Low Back and Pelvic Girdle Pain

The 9th World Congress on Low Back & Pelvic Girdle Pain will take place 31st October - 3rd November 2016 in Singapore. The congress will feature diverse and exciting research delivered by highly recognised professionals from around the world. Over 40 keynote speakers, 100 speakers in parallel sessions and more than 250 poster presentations have been selected.
