แนวทางเวชปฏิบัติ (Clinical Practice Guideline: CPG) เป็นสิ่งที่เกื้อหนุนให้นักกายภาพบำบัดสามารถให้บริการกายภาพบำบัด ซึ่งได้ผ่านการยืนยันด้วยงานวิจัยที่มีคุณภาพสูงแล้วว่า มีประสิทธิภาพและปลอดภัย เมื่อใช้อย่างถูกต้องตามหลักวิชาการ แนวทางเวชปฏิบัติได้รับการพัฒนาขึ้น โดยผ่านกระบวนการรวบรวม วิเคราะห์ และสังเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องจำนวนมากอย่างเป็นระบบ จนกระทั่งกลายเป็นข้อแนะนำสำหรับการจัดการปัญหาสุขภาพเฉพาะ ดังนั้น แนวทางเวชปฏิบัติจึงเป็นประโยชน์อย่างยิ่ง ทั้งต่อนักกายภาพบำบัดและผู้ป่วย ในกระบวนการตัดสินใจเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการจัดการปัญหาสุขภาพที่เหมาะสม นักกายภาพบำบัดพึงอ่านรายละเอียดในแนวทางเวชปฏิบัติให้ครบถ้วนก่อนนำไปประยุกต์ใช้
